The history of Vredestein’s all-season tyres started in 1993 with the introduction of the first Quatrac: a unique product that offered safe driving in all conditions without having to change tyres twice a year. The Quatrac was widely praised by international testing bodies.

As market demands continued to change and the number of SUVs grew, Vredestein unveiled an SUV version of its all-season tyre in 2009. In the years that followed, the Vredestein Quatrac 3 and Vredestein Quatrac 3 SUV became the benchmark for other manufacturers of all-season tyres.

During these successful years for the Vredestein Quatrac 3, Vredestein continued to work on developing a revolutionary new tyre. The outcome was unveiled in 2011 with the Vredestein Quatrac Lite; the first all-season tyre developed for lower fuel consumption and meeting all the demands of modern car owners.

In 2014 Vredestein launched the Vredestein Quatrac 5, the result of 20 years of experience and hard work by the Research and Development department of the Dutch tyre brand. Unique additions such as 3D Grip Claws, an innovative tread design and Full Silica Compound brought the performance of the latest generation of all-season tyre to an even higher level. The Quatrac 5 also reinforced Vredestein’s reputation as a true all-season expert.
Excellent on snow, almost as good as a real winter tyre (Quatrac 5, 215/65 R16, AutoBild 2015)
In 2015 Vredestein continued to revolutionise the market with the introduction of a Quatrac 5 with the Y speed index, making the tyre suitable for speeds up to 300 km/h. Cars delivered with Y tyres by the manufacturer can now be fitted with the same speed index when the tyres are replaced. The number of all-season tyres with the Y speed index will be expanded to ten sizes over the course of 2015.
